Aurangabad, April 11:

Traders from the city are waiting eagerly for Chief Minister’s decision likely to be taken on April 12 about the lockdown.

It may be noted that the State Government implemented strict lockdown across the State because of the rise in the number of COVID patients. Most of the shops were shut down except for vegetables, medicines, hospital and essential commodities. The traders have threatened to defy the Government restrictions and reopen the shops on Monday.

However, members of Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MACCIA) in their meeting held on Saturday, decided to support the CM if declares complete lockdown, taking into an increase in patients figure. The Chief Minister did not announce anything on Sunday.

Upset over this, the traders decided to wait until Monday when Uddhav Thackery is likely to announce about the lockdown.

Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh (ZVM) president Jagannath Kale said that traders would take a decision to reopen the shops after CM’s announcement.

The online meeting of ZVM was held at 11 am on Sunday. Jagannath Kale gave information about what happened in State level traders meeting.

“We support the complete lockdown if announced by CM, otherwise, traders will reopen the shops. Presidents and secretary of many traders unions demanded online sale and purchase should be stopped in lockdown. The Mahasangh has submitted an online memorandum to the district collector,” he added.
