Aurangabad, July 16:

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has to bear the additional burden of Rs 2 crores daily due to the increase of fuel price hike. Hence, we are thinking of fare hike of the buses, but the decision will be taken after discussion in the cabinet, informed transport minister Anil Parab.

Parab visited the MSRTC Chikalthana workshop and inspected the bus stand. Later, he spoke to the newsmen. MSRTC vice president and managing director Shekhar Channe, Aurangabad divisional controller Arun Siya, Kishor Somwanshi, Sanjay Nalamwar, Laxman Lokhande and others were present.

He said MSRTC has faced huge financial losses due to the Corona pandemic in the past around one and a half years. Now, it is getting the financial stability. But the corporation can not completely rely on the passengers for income and it will have to find other alternatives. The MSRTC fuel pumps and tyre remoulding service will be made open for the public also.

The MSRTC employees have their own wage agreement and hence the seventh pay commission will be not implemented for them.

Parab also informed that strict action will be taken in the bribery case held in the RTO office at Aurangabad.
