Truck driver decamps with goods worth Rs 23 lakh

Aurangabad, June 1:

A case was registered against a truck driver in Cidco MIDC police station for decamping with Cotton bales worth Rs 23.28 lakh. The bales were to be delivered to a company in Madhya Pradesh.

The accused is identified as Feroz Mansuri Hameed (Motibagh Mohalla, Badwani, MP). According to the police, the complainant Nikhil Kamal Kishor Khandelwal (45, Dutta Colony, Gorakshan Road, Akola) is engaged in the business of buying and selling cotton bales. On May 4, Khandelwal sent cotton bales worth Rs 23.28 lakh from MSWC godown, Chikalthana to Trident Yarn company in MP from truck (MH-18-BA-7861). He appointed truck driver Feroz to deliver the goods. The accused assured the complainant that the goods would be delivered on time. But he did not deliver the goods to the company. Instead, Feroz turned off his mobile and disappeared. The complainant noticed that the truck driver had betrayed him. He then lodged a complaint with the MIDC Cidco police station on Sunday. Constable Amarnath Nagre is investigating the case.
