After investment announcements by EV majors such as Toyota, JSW and Ather Energy around 18 months ago, Auric City under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) continues to attract large industries. Godavari New Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Nidec Global Appliances India Pvt. Ltd. have now announced projects worth a combined ₹37,515 crore in Auric. The investments are expected to generate around 10,000 direct and indirect jobs. Both companies signed MoUs with the state government on Wednesday.
Nearly 10,000 acres were acquired in the Bidkin and Shendra industrial belts of Auric City. After all plots in Shendra Industrial Zone were allotted, Auric shifted its focus to the Bidkin industrial area over the past two years. During this period, companies including Toyota, JSW, Ather Energy, Lubrizol, Piramal Pharma and Sago India announced investments in Bidkin DMIC. So far, projects worth nearly ₹1 lakh crore have been announced in Auric, with construction of several plants already underway. Among the new entrants, Godavari New Energy Pvt. Ltd., an EV company, will invest ₹27,515 crore and generate 4,000 direct jobs. Multinational firm Nidec Global Appliances India Pvt. Ltd. will invest ₹1,000 crore and create 1,000 direct jobs. Godavari New Energy has been allotted 114 acres in Bidkin DMIC, while Nidec has received 50 acres, informed Auric senior manager Mahesh Patil.
