Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Uddhav Sena will neither extend support to nor seek support from BJP and Shinde Sena in the elections for the posts of president and vice-president of Zilla Parishad (ZP) and Panchayat Samiti (PS), stated Uddhav Sena leader Ambadas Danve during a press conference on Saturday. However, he added that if any individual wishes to support them, they would welcome it.
Danve was speaking to the media at his contact office, Matrabhumi Pratishthan. He said that Uddhav Sena has secured a good number of seats in these elections and has gained representation in all tehsils except Sillod. Considering the current political situation in ZP and PS, Uddhav Sena’s role will remain significant. While they are open to receiving support in the interest of development, they will not extend support to any party.
He further said that leaders across all parties are ambitious, but all is not well between BJP and Shinde Sena. ZP members receiving calls from political leaders is understandable, but if the chief engineer of the public works department is making such calls, it would be better if he resigns from his post. Uddhav Sena members have informed the party about the calls they received, indicating intense competition between BJP and Shinde Sena to secure ZP posts.
He challenged BJP and Shinde Sena to publicly declare that they have the numbers to form the ruling body, adding that Uddhav Sena can come to power by taking everyone along. The state government had announced a farm loan waiver, and irrespective of the state's financial condition, farmers must receive it, he said. A pistol was reportedly found in a bag at the office of MLC Kenekar, and a thorough investigation must be conducted to determine who placed it there and why.
Where is the Rs 33,000 crore package?
The state government had announced a Rs 33,000 crore relief package for farmers affected by excessive rainfall. However, questions remain about its implementation. In protest, the party’s MPs and MLAs will go on a hunger strike in Dharashiv.
Probe into Rs 250 crore scam demanded
Preliminary information suggests a scam of approximately Rs 250 crore in the district planning fund, where QR codes meant for one project were used under another’s name. Danve demanded a detailed inquiry into the matter, suggesting that the investigation committee should include external officers or a retired judge.
