Aurangabad, April 17:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched the vaccination drive for business fraternity, bank officials and industrial workers, from Monday.

Presently, the AMC is giving the vaccine to 5,000 citizens daily. The civic administration had given Covid-19 vaccine to 1.64 lakh beneficiaries, so far.

Acting upon the orders of the municipal commissioner A K Pandey, the municipal officer of health Dr Neeta Padalkar and the head of task force Aparna Thete are launching the vaccination drive with the assistance of the Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh president Jaganath Kale and secretary Laxminarayan Rathi. The AMC had set up 11 centres to administer vaccines to the business fraternity.

It may be noted that the bank employees also come into contact with the customers on regular basis. The AMC has arranged vaccination for them at 10 centres. The vaccination drive for the industrial workers aims at their safety. The AMC has set up two centres for them in the AMC limits.
