Aurangabad, May 2:

The Corona vaccination drive for the people above 45 years has been hampered as the central government has not provided ample stock of the vaccines. The drive will be halted till the further stock is received, hence the residents above 45 years should not approach the vaccination centres unless the vaccines are received, appealed the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

The AMC has started large scale vaccination in the city due to the severe outbreak of the Corona pandemic. A mega vaccination drive was started for the citizens above 45 years of gage. In all, 2.36 lakh residents above 45 years have been vaccinated so far and the drive is getting good response from the people. However, there is a shortage of vaccines. The demand is around 1 lakh vaccines weekly but the administration is getting only 25,000 to 30,000 vaccines instead. Hence, the vaccination has been halted. There are 1.80 lakh persons waiting for the second dose of vaccines in the city but it not clear whether they will get the dose in the scheduled time limit.
