Vaccination in full swing in private hospitals

Aurangabad, July 8:

With the prevailing shortage of vaccines in municipal and government hospitals, citizens are turning towards private hospitals for vaccinations. In all 69,608 people have been vaccinated in private hospitals, said municipal health officer Dr Nita Padalkar.

Till date, 4,79,976 people have been vaccinated in the city. Over 1.11 lakh people have taken both the doses. But with a shortage of vaccines, the vaccination drive has been closed for the past two days. Despite the shortage of vaccines in government hospitals, the paid vaccination drive in private hospitals is in full swing. The private hospitals are directly purchasing vaccines from the company. A dose of Covishield costs Rs 630 while Covaxin costs Rs 1,260, said Dr Padalkar.
