Wadgaon Grampanchayat under CCTV surveillance

Aurangabad, June 25:

The inauguration of CCTV cameras in the jurisdiction of Wadgaon Grampanchayat was held in presence of the commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta and the MLA Sanjay Shirsaat today. The Wadgaon-Bajajnagar Grampanchayat spent Rs 6 lakh (received under the 15th finance commission) to install 32 CCTV cameras in its jurisdiction.

The administrator Deepak Bagul, village development officer Ganesh Dhanwai, former sarpanch Sachin Garad, assistant commissioner of police Vivek Saraf, police inspectors Madhukar Sawant and Prashant Potdar were present on the dais.

Shirsaat hopes that the CCTV surveillance will help reduce criminal activities in the jurisdiction and sought the cooperation of villagers in implementing a village adoption scheme (VAS).

The CP appreciated the initiative and appealed to other GPs to implement this ideal practice. " We will be taking the help of villagers and public representatives in establishing peace and harmony in the village. Meanwhile, the police administration has initiated implementing VAS.

Dattatray Warpe made an introductory speech, Sachin Garad compered the proceedings and Hanuman Bhondwe proposed a vote of thanks. Shiv Sena's tehsil head Balasaheb Gaikwad, former deputy sarpanch Sunil Kale, Bappa Dalvi, Shrikrishna Bhole, panchayat samiti members Rajesh Sale, Shrikant Sale, and others were also present on the occasion. The CP also inspected the ground, developed under the VAS, and also interacted with the villagers.
