Aurangabad, March 6:

Workers of Wipro Enterprises at Waluj MIDC have been on a hunger strike since Saturday as the company management is refusing to sign a pay hike agreement.

A union of Maharashtra Kamgar Vikas Sanghatana has been established in the company. The company management and the union had a successful discussion in 2016 regarding the wage hike agreement. After the expiration of this agreement, it was mandatory to sign a new agreement on January 31, 2020. However, company management has been refraining from signing the pay hike agreement for a year. The union had given the company management a deadline of March 5 to sign the agreement. However, the management did not respond. Hence the workers have resorted to a hunger strike in front of the company entrance gate since Saturday. The workers in the company shouted slogans against the management. union secretary Ramkisan Shelke, state vice president Ganesh Ghorpade, state in-charge Shivshankar Sagat, union president Namdev Mankape, Vijay Jadhav and other workers participated in the strike.
