Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 55 women officers and nurses who have been providing service at the ESIS Hospital were honoured on Sunday afternoon at the ESIS Hospital in Chikalthana.

The women were felicitated at the hands of the dean of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Dr Shivaji Sukre.

A unique feature of the hospital is that its key responsibilities across the Marathwada region are handled by women. Medical superintendent Dr Meenakshi Rathod, resident medical officer Dr Pratima Palavade and medical administration officer Dr Sangeeta Shinde are holding major positions in the hospital.

Assistant labour commissioner Yuvraj Padiyal and organisation president Buddhinath Baral were the chief guests at the programme. The event was coordinated by state secretary of the Maharashtra State Insured Workers’ Union, Vinod Farkade.
