Gautam Adani Overtakes Mukesh Ambani As Asia’s Richest Person

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, has now become the richest person in Asia, surpassing Mukesh Ambani. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani’s net worth has reached $92.6 billion. His wealth has increased by $8.10 billion this year, placing him 19th on the global rich list. In comparison, Ambani’s net worth stands at $90.8 billion, having declined by $16.9 billion this year.

Stock Market Movement

The Indian stock market witnessed a slight decline on Thursday, with the Sensex closing 123 points lower. However, shares of the Adani Group continued to rise, boosting Adani’s wealth by $3.56 billion in a single day. Meanwhile, Ambani’s wealth increased marginally by $76.7 million, as shares of Reliance Industries ended almost flat. Ambani currently ranks second in Asia and 20th globally.

Wealth Declines Among Global Billionaires

Seven of the world’s top 20 richest individuals have seen their wealth decline this year. French businessman Bernard Arnault has recorded the biggest loss, with his wealth falling by $44 billion. Others who have seen declines include Steve Ballmer, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Amancio Ortega and Mukesh Ambani.

Elon Musk continues to top the list with a net worth of $656 billion, having added $36.7 billion this year. Other prominent names include:

* Sergey Brin: $266 billion

* Larry Ellison: $230 billion
* Michael Dell: $170 billion
* Jensen Huang: $164 billion

* Jim Walton: $150 billion
