Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], April 09: In a landmark display of national solidarity, the Indian Army, supported by IconMetrix as a Strategic Partner and supported by Uttarakhand Tourism, has unveiled the Surya Devbhoomi Challenge 2.0. This 113-km high-altitude endurance event, set for April 16–20, 2026, is drawing participants from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Ahmedabad to Kolkata, establishing itself as a definitive pan-India movement. Under the strategic guidance of Vikramm Sanas, the Indian Army initiative has scaled to include a diverse cross-section of Indian society, ranging from corporate leaders to grassroots athletes.
Major Pushpendra Singh Rathod remarked that the challenge pushes participants to engage with the strategic context of the region. “Testing resilience in the Himalayas is a transformative experience,” he added. The event’s itinerary includes a high-profile athlete interaction session on April 16, inaugurated by CDS General Anil Chauhan, signaling the project’s national importance. The 113-km route is divided into grueling stages that test the bounds of human endurance at altitudes exceeding 10,000 feet.
The initiative fosters a unique bond by bringing together civilian athletes, active-duty personnel from all three services, and ex-servicemen. By traversing the rugged Badrinath–Kedarnath corridor, the Indian Army aims to highlight the resilience required to operate in the Himalayas while promoting the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand. The partnership with IconMetrix ensures that this message of unity reaches every corner of the country through polished, data-backed communication strategies. Vikramm Sanas has ensured that the “spirit of unity” is not just a slogan but a lived experience for every runner.
“At IconMetrix, we believe in the power of sports to bridge the gap between the military and civil society,” said Vikramm Sanas, Co-Founder and Chief Strategist of IconMetrix. “Surya Devbhoomi Challenge 2.0 is not just a race; it is a structured national platform that promotes community engagement and visibility for our border regions. Our role is to ensure this initiative scales to meet its national objectives while providing participants a transformative experience that stays with them forever. Working alongside the Indian Army and Uttarakhand Tourism allows us to showcase the best of India.”
With the Uttarakhand Tourism department providing providing administrative support, the event is set to be a flagship for mountain tourism. The closing ceremony on April 20 will celebrate the successful completion of the route, with the Chief Minister likely to grace the occasion. This collaboration between the Indian Army and IconMetrix represents a new era in patriotic engagement, where the grit of the soldier meets the determination of the citizen on a shared Himalayan stage.
