Kyle Myers's unbeaten double hundred on debut helped West Indies overhaul a 395-run target to win the Chattogram Test against Bangladesh and take a 1-0 series lead on Sunday.Mayers became the 14th West Indies player to score a century on Test debut to give the inexperienced visitors a big boost after a disappointing ODI series. Earlier in the day, after West Indies resumed on 110 for 3 and 285 away from an unlikely win, there were some nervy moments that kept Bangladesh interested. Having started the day on 110 for 3, Mayers (200*) and Bonner (86) kept Bangladesh wicketless for the two sessions.

The hosts, however, broke their partnership in the final session when Taijul Islam dismissed Bonner for 86.The hosts had several chances to break open the day but couldn't convert any. Bangladesh missed the control and guile of Shakib Al Hasan, who hasn't taken any part in the Test after walking off with a thigh injury on day two. Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque scored a century and Mehidy Hasan took 3/52 as hosts set a target of 395 for West Indies to chase in the fourth innings. The result meant West Indies achieved the fifth highest total of all time in the fourth innings of a Test match win. It was the highest successful run-chase in Asia.
