The first T20I match was played in bad weather conditions as the air quality in Delhi worsened after Diwali. However, the Bangladesh team won its first T20I game against India. After the match, veteran Bangladesh batsman Mushfikur Rahim said that his team since their arrival in India found it difficult to cope with the weather.

Rahim also stated that he did not have a problem with pollution and that his main focus was facing the bowlers from the opposite teams.
