IPL Points Table 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced another sensational batting display with a blistering 93 off 38 balls as Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by seven wickets to keep their Indian Premier League 2026 playoff hopes alive on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Chasing a daunting target of 221 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi dominated the LSG bowling attack with an innings packed with seven fours and 10 sixes. His knock overshadowed an earlier assault from Mitchell Marsh, who smashed 96 off 57 deliveries to lift Lucknow to 220 for five.
Rajasthan got off to a flying start as Sooryavanshi and stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal added 75 runs for the opening wicket in just 39 balls. Jaiswal contributed 43 before departing, but Sooryavanshi continued his aggressive approach and stitched a 105-run partnership with Jitesh Sharma, who remained unbeaten on 53.
The Royals completed the chase in 19.1 overs to stay in contention for a playoff berth.
Earlier, after being sent in to bat, Lucknow Super Giants rode on Marsh’s explosive innings and a rapid 60 off 29 balls from Josh Inglis. The pair put together a 109-run opening stand off just 50 deliveries to hand LSG a dominant platform.
Marsh later added 64 runs with skipper Rishabh Pant, who chipped in with 35, as Lucknow crossed the 220-run mark.
For Rajasthan, leg-spinner Yash Raj Punja was the most successful bowler with figures of 2 for 35.
