IPL 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scripted another milestone in IPL 2026 after becoming the youngest batter in cricket history to score more than 500 runs in a T20 tournament. The 15-year-old achieved the feat during Rajasthan Royals’ must-win clash against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Coming into the match, Sooryavanshi needed only 14 runs to cross the 500-run mark in the tournament and reached the milestone in just 14 deliveries.
The teenage opener has now scored more than 540 runs from 13 matches in IPL 2026 and also became the first player to score over 500 IPL runs before turning 20.
Sooryavanshi is only the second teenager to score 500-plus runs in a T20 tournament after Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 580 runs in the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the age of 19.
The left-handed batter continued his remarkable season with another explosive innings against LSG. He narrowly missed out on a century after scoring 93 off 38 balls, smashing seven fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 244.74.
Sooryavanshi currently leads the Orange Cap race in IPL 2026 and has emerged as one of the standout performers of the season.
Earlier in the tournament, he registered the fastest half-century of IPL 2026 by reaching the landmark in just 14 balls.
The youngster has impressed ever since making his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals last season. In his maiden campaign, he scored 252 runs in seven matches, including a century, at a strike rate of more than 200.
During IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi also smashed a century against Sunrisers Hyderabad, an innings that featured 12 sixes and five boundaries.
