This is the third time Tallawahs have won the title, last time in 2017 and 2013. The Tallawahs also became the first team to win the championship after finishing fourth in the league stage. Brandon King played a masterful knock of 83* off 50 balls with 13 fours and two sixes, helping the Tallawahs win with 23 balls to spare.

After opting to bat first, the Royals, who were once on a six-match winning streak in the tournament, posted a challenging target of 162 for the Tallawahs to chase down. Azam Khan’s 40-ball 51 with four fours and three sixes guided the Royals to a respectable score.Khan took charge after Rahkeem Cornwall (36) and Kyle Mayers (29) put on 63 runs for the opening wicket in the powerplay. The middle-order couldn’t quite step up as Jason Holder and Najibullah Zadran scored only 23 runs from as many as 31 balls.After the first six overs, the Royals scored only 98 runs off 14 balls. Fabian Allen and Nicholson Gordon were the standout bowlers for the Tallawahs with three wickets apiece.
