Slumdog Millionaire actor Madhur Mittal who has been accused of sexual assault has denied the allegations. An FIR under section 354, 354A, 354B, 509,323 of the IPC was filed against him at the Khar Police Station on February 23.According to the report, he has been accused of sexually assaulting and battering the complainant's former girlfriend on February 13 at her Mumbai residence.It turns out that the girl and Madhur had common friends and were on each other's social media. The two got close and he asked her out, a source close to the girl revealed. The source added that while they dated for two months, they soon parted ways and Madhur could not come to terms with the breakup, reported ETimes. The actor was shooting in Jaipur, but landed in Mumbai and reportedly entered her Bandra residence on February 13. The actor apparently tried to force himself on her. Madhur tried seeing her on February 15, but the girl's lawyer Niranjani Shetty asked him to leave.

In an interaction with ETimes, Madhur said that getting to learn about things that are untrue is extremely disturbing. The actor, who is shooting in Jaipur, added that there have been WhatsApp messages that are assassinating his character.The actor revealed he is the only earning member in his family and the reports are affecting him, his family and his career. Madhur urged everyone to not jump to conclusions and added he had faith in the law and believes that truth will prevail. Lawyer Niranjani Shetty said that the girl was in no state to talk to her and that her friend had reached out. The girl has sustained injuries under the eye, neck and lips. Shetty added that she went personally to the Crime Against Women Cell (CAWC) and that they later called them and the FIR was filed."You cannot hit a woman, period," Shetty opined, adding that one may be in a relationship for two months or 20 years, men need to learn to accept a 'No' and should be held accountable for their actions.
