Ever since the coronavirus outbreak began to wreck havoc in India and across states a number of Bollywood celebs have come to the rescue of migrants and healthcare professionals. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror Ajay Devgn has paid for all the oxygen cylinders and portable ventilators for a new 200-bed hospital in Dharavi. The contribution has been made through his production house, Ajay Devgn Films Foundation (ADFF).  The Singham actor has  also  provided ration kits to 700 families of Dharavi.

Meanwhile, the hospital which will serve as a COVID-19 centre to treat the patients has been constructed on an unused 4,000-sqm plot belonging to the MMRDA. Kiran Dighavkar, assistant municipal commissioner of G-North said that as work began Ajay had quietly approached to the civic officials and was ready to offer help. He further said that they had told him they needed oxygen cylinders for all 200 beds and two portable ventilators and the actor readily agreed to pay for them. On the work front, Ajay was last seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero which was a stupendous success at the box-office. The actor will be next seen in Maidaan in which he essays the role of a football coach. The film is being produced by Boney Kapoor. Directed by "Badhaai Ho" maker Amit Sharma, "Maidaan" is a football drama based on the life of a former player, the late Syed Abdul Rahim, who is also regarded as one of the greatest coaches in the sport that India has seen.
