Filmmaker, Hansal Mehta has revealed that he lost his father. On Wednesday, the Scam 1992 director, penned down an emotional post mourning the demise of his father. Sharing throwback pictures, Hansal Mehta wrote, "I always thought he would outlive me. I was wrong. See you on the other side Pappa. The most handsome man in the world. And the most gentle and generous human being that I’ve ever met. Thank you Pappa for your unconditional love. Thank you my legend, my hero (sic)."  

Several Bollywood celebrities took to social media to pay condolences to the family. Scam 1992 actor Pratik Gandhi wrote, "Heartfelt condolences sir." Guneet Monga commented, "So so sorry sending you lots n lots of love and strength." Pooja Bhatt wrote "my deepest condolences to you and the family Hansal."On the personal front, Hansal Mehta and six people in his family were battling Covid-19 recently. The director informed that his son was critical but he was helpless as he himself was also battling the virus. On the work front, Hansal Mehta last directed the Rajkummar Rao-starrer Chhalaang, which released on Amazon Prime Video to mixed reviews.
