Gaurav Gera Opens Up About His Audition and How He Landed the Role of Alam Bhai in Dhurandhar

Actor Gaurav Gera did phenomenal acting in blockbuster film Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. In the movie he plays the role of spy Alam Bhai who guides Ranveer Singh. At first, due to his beard(ed) look, no one recognized he is the same famous comedian. It was only later that everyone realized he was the very same 'Nandu' from the popular TV series 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin'.

Since then audiences have showered Gaurav Gera with immense love, and his performance in this role is receiving a fantastic response. Recently, Gaurav shared an anecdote regarding his audition for Dhuranthar and even revealed exactly which scene he performed during the process.

In the film, Gaurav Gera portrays the character of Alam Bhai, a man who runs a juice shop in Lyari, Pakistan. In reality, however, he is an Indian intelligence agent. Speaking to the *Hindustan Times* about this role, he said, "Casting Director Mukesh Chhabra called me to his office. For the audition, I was asked to perform what is arguably the most intense scene in Dhuranthar 2. It was the scene where Alam Bhai takes the blame for Pinda's death upon himself—a moment that requires him to first convince Hamza to accept his explanation. I had to audition solely for this specific, difficult, and emotionally heavy scene."

He continued, "Landing this role came as a pleasant surprise to me, primarily because Alam Bhai serves as Hamza's sole pillar of support within Pakistan. I had actually met Mukesh Chhabra once before for another project helmed by Aditya Dhar, but I wasn't selected for that role at the time. However, this time around, my hard work paid off, as I had complete faith in my acting abilities."
