Chandan Roy Sanyal, aka Aashram’s Bhupendra, said that his journey began with a small role in Shahid Kapoor’s Kamine, and now he got Aashram before lockdown. He said that he never came to Bombay intending to become a Super Star.

Speaking about his experience in Bollywood, he said, “I think Vishal Ji and Prakash Ji are two milestone directors in my life who have given me very important roles in my career. My journey began with Kaminey, and I got Aashram just before the lockdown, at a time when web content was emerging in India. We shot the first season in 2019.”

When he was asked if he felt like an outsider in the industry, he said, “Actually, you know, the way you look at life—everything is about perspective. Some people feel that if they come from outside the industry, they are outsiders and have to work much harder to get in, while others get opportunities more quickly... I just wanted to act. I never came to Bombay thinking I wanted to become a superstar. That was never my goal. So, whatever I got, I see as positive. Every experience, every film, every failure—I take it as a positive lesson.”

In Aashram Season 3, Bobby Deol's portrayal of Baba Nirala would be overthrown by Chandan Roy's character, Bhopa. Aashram Season 3 part 2 was released on February 27, and the show is loved by the fans.
