Rajnikanth opens about doing a Marathi film

The much awaited trailer of Rajnikanth's cop drama Darbar was released yesterday in Mumbai amdist much pomp and fanfare. The superstar and the cast of the film were present for the launch and during the Q and A the actor revealed his intention of doing a Marathi film. He added that his passion for acting has been the driving factor for the last 45 years.  Speaking about the same the superstar said, "I do speak in Marathi in my house and once I had an opportunity to work in a Marathi film but that did not work out, I would like to work in a Marathi film, let us see what happens."

Rajnikanth who was born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad in a Marathi family in Banglore also expressed his interest in essaying the role of a transgender."I have explored almost all genres and I have worked in 160 films, and it's been 45 years in the film industry, I want to play the role of a transgender.'' When quizzed if he has been ever aproached for such a role, the actor said, No, no yet, I thought about it just now and expressed my wish." The actor's upcoming release, Darbar is an action thriller written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss. The film stars, Nayanthara, Prateik Babbar, Jatin Sarna, and Sunil Shetty in a negative role. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release in Tamil, Telugu,  Malayalam, and Hindi on 10th January 2020.
