The trailer of Taapsee Pannu's much awaited film Thappad is out. Mulk and Article 15 fame director Anubhav Sinha, Thappad is his another attempt to show the reality of the society. Taapsee Pannu plays the lead role of Amrita, a wife who moves court to seek divorce after her husband slaps her at a party.

The trailer looks quite power packed and reflects how the society considers a slap a trivial matter and asks a woman to compromise. In one scene, Ratna Pathak Shah, who plays Amrita's mother, is seen saying, "Bas ye sunana reh gya tha, beti divorce karegi." While in another scene, Tanvi Azmi suggests Taapsee to forget it. She says. "Jaane de beta. Thoda bardasht karna seekhna padta hai aurton ko (Let it go. Women have to tolerate a little)".

The trailer is bang on and we can't wait for the movie to see it on big screen. Thappad is set to hit screens on February 28, 2020.
