Ilhan Omar Sprayed With Unknown Liquid During Town Hall Meeting in Minneapolis (Watch Video)
US representative for Minnesota, Ilhan Abdullahi, was sprayed with unknow liquid during a Town Hall speech on Wednesday, January 27. The video of the incident surfaced online. The viral video showed her being attacked by being sprayed by a person before security nabbed him.
The attack on the Democratic Party member comes at a time when US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is cracking down on illegal immigrants in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where two people were shot and killed by Federal agents, triggering violent protests.
The deceased Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good were killed in an ICE assault during an anti-alien drive by the Trump administration. Omar has been critical of Trump, and the president has slammed the Somali-born lawmaker multiple times as well.

Omar was attacked when she was speaking about Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem, asking her to resign or face impeachment over the agency's handling of the Pretti incident.
This was her first town hall of 2026, where she was joined by local and state officials to "provide an update on the work being done at the local, state, and federal levels to hold ICE accountable for their unlawful terrorization of Minnesota communities."

“Oh my god, he sprayed something on her!” a woman can be heard saying in a video of the incident.
Omar seemed to resist efforts to move her offstage to safety. She returned to the microphone and said, “We’re going to keep talking… Please don’t let them have a show.”
“Here’s the reality that people like this ugly man don’t understand: We are Minnesota strong, and we will stay resilient in the face of whatever they might throw at us,” she added.
