Asia's deadliest typhoon of the year, Typhoon Kalmaegi, will strike Vietnam on Thursday night, November 6, after killing more than a hundred people in the Philippines on Thursday. According to the news disaster agency, 127 people are still missing after the cyclonic storm devastated the country.

Typhoon Kalmaegi is expected to reach Gia Lai province of Vietnam. The government has evacuated more than 3 lakh people from the province and warned of heavy rainfall with strong winds and flooding in the low-lying areas. The deadliest typhoon turned Cebu into rubble, killing at least 114 residents, with more than hundreds reported missing.

Typhoon Kalmaegi still posed a threat as it moved towards the South China Sea and struck Vietnam’s coast. The super cyclonic storm has formed a Category 4 Hurricane and is expected to hit central Vietnam on Thursday night. The aviation authorities of Vietnam have halted eight airport operations, including Da Nang airport, which is likely to be affected by the storm and heavy rainfall. The weather department and airline authorities are asked to closely monitor the cyclonic storm to ensure passenger safety.

Typhoon Kalmaegi, in the Philippines' regional language called Tino, is the 20th tropical cyclone of the year 2025. It comes back to back typhoons killed hundreds of people in Western countries.
