US-Iran War LIVE Updates: UN Security Council Calls Emergency Meeting After US-Israel Strikes on Iran
Israel and the US has lunched co-ordinated attack on Iran on Saturday, February 28, alerting the Middle East to a renewed military confrontation. The attack came several months after Tehran and Tel Aviv engaged in a 12-day intense war in June last year over Israeli operations in the West Bank and alleged genocide in the State of Palestine.
On Saturday, Israel Defence Ministry stated that it had launched pre-emptive strikes to warn against any offensive from Tehran, while US President Donald Trump confirmed a "major combat operation" in Iran. Explosions were also heard in Kuwait, the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi and a missile was intercepted by Qatari missile defence.
