Ahilyanagar Accident: 4 Killed in Head-On Collision Between Truck and Car on Ahilyanagar–Daund Highway

Four were killed after a truck and a car collided head-on in the Ahilyanagar district of Maharashtra. The accident took place near near Mauli Mandir in Kolgaon at around 3 am on the Ahilyanagar–Daund National Highway.

The driver of the car, Nitin Anil Kokate (22), a resident of Kashti, died along with three members of the Payghan family, including Gajanan Janardhan Payghan (47), Durpa Gajanan Payghan (36) and Vaibhav Gajanan Payghan (19). Another family member, Karan Gajanan Payghan (13), was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment.

The Payghan family is originally from Maltur in the Patur taluka of the Akole district. They had been living in Chimbhale village in Shrigonda taluka for work. They were travelling with driver Nitin Kokate from Kashti. At around 3 am, while returning from their village to Chimbhale, a truck travelling from Daund towards Ahilyanagar collided head-on with their Eco car coming towards Ghargaon, resulting in the deaths of four people on the spot.
