In heinous act of father allegedly attempted to burn his two young daughters alive by dousing them with diesel, after wife refused to return to their marital home. incident occurred in Lahamewadi, Majalgaon taluka, victim girls were merely 4 and 5 years old. In connection with this case, a complaint has been registered against the accused husband at the Majalgaon Rural Police Station.

The complainant, Ashwini Mahesh Somase (33, resident of Talewadi), was currently staying at her maternal home in Lahamewadi following a minor domestic quarrel with her husband. On May 2, around 5:00 PM, her husband, Mahesh Vishnu Somase, arrived in Lahamewadi on a two-wheeler, bringing both their daughters along. He told Ashwini, "Come back to our marital home." In response, Ashwini suggested that they resolve their dispute by holding a meeting mediated by respected elders from the village.

Enraged by this suggestion, Mahesh Somase threatened both his wife and mother-in-law, declaring, "If you do not send her back to live with me, I will pour diesel on both the girls and burn them to death." Not stopping there, he retrieved a white plastic can of diesel from a bag attached to his two-wheeler and poured the fuel over his two young daughters—Mrunal (5) and Mrunmay (4). He then pulled a matchbox from his pocket and attempted to set the girls on fire.

Upon hearing Ashwini and her mother scream for help, a nearby relative, Asaram Tanhabha Chincholkar, rushed to the scene. He managed to snatch the diesel can and the matchbox from Mahesh Somase's hands, thereby averting a major tragedy. As he fled the scene, the accused issued a final threat: "If you do not return to live with me, I will kill both you and your family members." In this matter, based on a complaint filed by Ashwini Somase, a case has been registered against her husband, Mahesh Vishnu Somase, under various sections at the Majalgaon Rural Police Station.
