On the Occasion of the International Nurses Day, Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar, said that she salutes the nurses who are working day in and day out to help citizens amid COVID-19.

"The doctors and nurses are like 'devdoot' on earth. Hats off to those in service. I offer my salute to these frontline workers."

Earlier last month Pednekar, a former nurse, donned her old uniform again to serve COVID-19 patients in the city.

Bharat Kumar Raut, former Sena MP, tweeted, "Kishori Pednekar, Mayor of Mumbai, has gone back to her profession as medical nurse & joined Nair hospital where she was working before becoming Corporator. Three kudos to her sense of loyalty to her profession & care for the people."
