From being just a boy from the small town of Punjab named Moga, Sonu Sood has always had humble beginnings. Earlier, a fan of Sonu Sood shared a photo of the actor’s 20-year-old Mumbai Local train pass, which he used for travelling during his struggling days.The pass, that costed Rs 420 back then, was issued on 08.07.1997. Sharing the photo of the pass, the fan had written in Hindi that only those who have struggled in true sense can understand the pain of others. He further mentioned how the actor used to travel by Mumbai Local train, carrying the Rs 420 pass. Today recalling his struggle at the  Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year’ 2020 Awards, Sonu said, people come to Mumbai with a lot of dreams, the journey is tough as dreams in Mumbai quickly gets shattered, I used to travel by train from Borivali to Churchgate everyday, I still know every station. 

Continuing further he said, my father told me to get a flat in Mumbai, but I realized it is important to achieve success through the hard grin. The rejections I got rom auditions, to the Mumbai streets have taught me everything. The actor said never give up on your dreams as hardwork always gets paid off one day. Originally from Punjab, the actor has been living in Mumbai for the past 25 years. Sonu roared in Marathi saying that "Mumbai is the land where I work" Sonu Sood started his acting career by participating in modelling events in college. He soon shifted to Mumbai (formerly called Bombay) to give his career flight. The first role in a Bollywood film ever was in Kallazghar. For his work in Telugu blockbuster Arundhati, he received the Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award for Best Villain and the Film fare Award for Best Supporting Actor – Telugu in 2009. He received the SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for Julayi in 2012.He appeared for commercials for Airtel and Apollo Tyres. In July 2016, he established “Shakti Sagar Productions” the production house on the name of his father Shakti Sagar Sood. He earned recognition from Mani Ratnam’s film “Yuva” in 2004 as Abhishek Bachchan’s brother. In addition, Sonu also earned more recognition in Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005. In 2010, he played the lead antagonist in with Salman Khan Dabangg, a successful film by Abhinav Kashyap which turned him a overnight star.
