Maharashtra: The state is currently witnessing fluctuating weather conditions, with cool temperatures in the early morning and at night, followed by heat during the daytime.  According to the IMD, a significant change in Maharashtra's weather is expected in the next 24 hours, and some areas may experience another cold wave.

As per the Met department, the minimum temperature in the state is likely to change by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. Some areas may experience fog, while light drizzle is also possible in isolated places. The weather will remain mostly clear in many parts of the state, including the Konkan region. There are signs of a cold wave becoming active again in the state, and the effect of the cold is expected to increase, especially in North Maharashtra and Vidarbha. The cold will be more pronounced in the morning and at night, while some warmth is expected during the day.

Mumbai Weather

The weather in Mumbai is expected to remain dry. There will be a slight coolness in the air in the morning and at night, but the heat is likely to increase during the day. Therefore, Mumbaikars may experience discomfort due to the heat during the day. The sky will remain mostly clear.

Forecast for Pune city and Western Maharashtra

In Pune city and surrounding areas, the effect of the cold will be more pronounced in the early morning, but the temperature is likely to increase throughout the day. Due to the increase in minimum and maximum temperatures in the last few days, the intensity of the cold has decreased somewhat. Although there is coolness at night and in the early morning, the temperature rises considerably after noon, leading to humid conditions in some areas.

Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada

The sun will shine brightly in the Konkan-Goa, Central Maharashtra, and Marathwada regions. No major change in maximum temperature is expected in the next 4 to 5 days. Also, since no significant increase or decrease in minimum temperatures is expected in the next 7 days, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the intensity of the cold will remain relatively stable.

Cold Wave Situation in the Country

North India is experiencing a severe cold wave, with Narnaul, Haryana recording the country's lowest temperature at 3.0 degrees Celsius. Dhule recorded the lowest temperature in Maharashtra at 8.8 degrees Celsius, with Parbhani at 10 degrees Celsius and temperature fluctuations expected. Light rainfall is forecast for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh between January 22nd and 23rd. A severe cold wave is disrupting daily life in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi due to dense morning fog, and the cold is expected to intensify.

Overall, a change in weather is expected in Maharashtra in the next 24 hours, with a mixed situation of cold, warmth, and fog in some areas. The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to take care of their health.
