After the municipal corporation elections, the BJP-led ruling Mahayuti is now repeating its unopposed winning pattern in the Zilla Parishad (ZP) and local body elections in Maharashtra. In Sindhudurg district, as many as 11 Mahayuti candidates have been elected unopposed in the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections on Friday.

Of these, 10 candidates belong to the BJP, while one candidate is from the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. Five candidates have been elected unopposed from Zilla Parishad constituencies, while six candidates are unopposed in Panchayat Samiti seats. This once again highlights Mahayuti’s dominance, similar to its performance in recent municipal corporation elections. Sindhudurg is the home district of BJP state president Ravindra Chavan.
