Mumbai Rain: Heavy rains cause waterlogging, trains & traffic hit in Mumbai
The monsoon rains hit Maharashtra and Mumbai with full fury on Friday, hitting local trains and road traffic, and flooding low-lying areas in the country's commercial capital.
Large parts of Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad witnessed heavy rain, inundating several low-lying areas.

In Mumbai and suburbs several roads were flooded, the Central Railway and Western Railway suburban services were hit on the mainline and harbor lines.
Due to heavy rain & waterlogging on slow line near Kurla-Vidyavihar, trains are running 20-25 minutes late. Slow line traffic between Kurla-Vidyavihar were diverted on fast line. Harbor line services are also running 20-25 minutes late. Trans- Harbor line traffic is running smoothly, said Central railway CPRO.

Due to the continuous rains, water has started accumulating in the low lying areas. Roads have been flooded in some parts of Thane city.

Sion's Gandhi Market area has also been flooded. Due to waterlogging in Sion, drivers have to work hard to make their way through the water. In addition, many of BEST's routes have been diverted due to flooding in many places. The BEST bus has also provided a list of waterlogged areas where traffic has been diverted.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Raigad and Sindhudurg in the next three hours.
