Raju Shetti, leader of the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana will finally accept the Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) offer of one seat on the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC).

On Thursday the leader had stated that he will decline NCP's offer it upsets his party members. “If someone is getting hurt because of my accepting the council offer, then I better reject it. After all, for me, keeping the SSS intact is more important,” Shetti said.

Shetti accepting the offer did not go down well with two senior Swabhimani Paksha leaders — Savkar Madnaik and Jalindar Patil — believed to be close to Mr. Shetti.

However, a meeting was held in Kolhapur regarding the council offer which was attended by SSS party members. According to reports, after the meeting SSS party came to a conclusion that Shetti will accept the offer for the best interest and welfare of the farmers and the dispute among the party members have been settled.
