Maharashtra Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde has been accused of rape by Renu Sharma. The NCP leader however refuted the rape allegations levelled by a 38-year-old woman who said he has been in a relationship with her since 2003.
Bharatiya Janata Party took an aggressive stance after allegations were leveled against Munde and demanded his removal from the Cabinet.
However, Dhananjay Munde has got some relief after some other people accused Renu Sharma. Munde's political life was under threat after rape allegations were levelled against him, but the case took another twist when ex-BJP MLA Krishna Hegde and MNS's Manish Dhuri alleged that the same woman had been texting them to set a 'honey trap', seeking a relationship with them.
In a major relief for Munde, Nationalist Congress Party, has decided to let him continue in the cabinet post at least for now.NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Friday, demanded an ACP-level woman officer to probe into the issue. Yesterday when I commented on Dhananjay Munde issue, I said that the issue was serious but then certain facts were not in the public domain, I came to know that there was a similar complaint against the same lady by different political party leaders," Sharad Pawar said. Sharad Pawar further said the case must first be investigated and the party will think of probable action based on the findings of the probe.
