Mumbai: 27-Year-Old Man Goes Missing From Shivajinagar; Family Suspects Kidnapping Over Alleged Affair

A 27-year-old man has gone missing from the Shivajinagar area of Mumbai, with his family suspecting that he may have been abducted and murdered over an alleged illicit relationship. A complaint in this regard has been lodged with the Shivajinagar Police, who have initiated an investigation into the case.

The complainant, Gurabbir Ragiruddin Shaikh (37), a delivery boy residing with his family in a rented accommodation in the Mumbai Central area, informed police that his younger brother, Aurangzeb Samiruddin Shaikh (27), has been missing for the past three days. His mobile phone has also remained switched off. A missing person complaint had already been registered at Shivajinagar Police Station.

According to Gurabbir Shaikh, Aurangzeb was allegedly involved in an inappropriate relationship with the wife of his elder brother Wasim, identified as Simmi Shaikh. Due to this suspicion, a dispute had reportedly been ongoing between Simmi’s brother Avesh and Aurangzeb for some time. At present, Wasim and his wife Simmi are said to be in their native village in Bihar.

As per the complaint, on May 5, 2026, Wasim allegedly informed the family over phone that Avesh had taken Aurangzeb with him on some pretext. Later, Avesh allegedly called and claimed that he had “cut and disposed of” Aurangzeb, triggering panic and fear within the family.

Wasim further stated that Avesh had earlier threatened to kill Aurangzeb. Following the threat, Wasim had warned his younger brother to remain cautious, but Aurangzeb reportedly did not take the warning seriously. The complaint also alleges that the family has received death threats for approaching the police.

The family searched for Aurangzeb in Shivajinagar, Mankhurd and at relatives’ residences, but no trace of him was found. The complainant has alleged that on May 4, 2026, at around 3 pm, Avesh and his associates abducted Aurangzeb from the Shivajinagar-Govandi area and that there are fears of foul play.

Based on the complaint, Shivajinagar Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
