A 50-year-old resident of the Malvani area of Malad West, Mumbai, was arrested by police for his social media message. The accused is identified as Wajid Hazrat Momin. According to the news agency IANS, he posted objectionable content about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.  Momin's post, which referenced Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, allegedly incited religious sentiments and created tensions between communities. Wajid Momin wrote in his post, "Don't know how Aurangzeb had killed him, that the sound of pain is still echoing today." After the post went viral, tension escalated in the area, leading to a dispute between two communities. Upon receiving the complaint, Malvani police swiftly took action and took Wajid into custody.

According to the police, the post hurt religious sentiments and disrupted social harmony. A case has been registered against Wajid under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Following his arrest, he has been detained for questioning. The Malvani police are investigating why Wajid wrote the post and what his intentions were.
