Mumbai: Elderly Man Murdered with Sharp Weapon in Nagpada; Accused Arrested
A case of murder has come to light from the Nagpada area of Mumbai, where the Nagpada Police have registered an offence and arrested the Accused ein connection with the crime.
According to police, the complaint was filed by 55-year-old Tanzila Mohammad Iqbal Seliya, a resident of Karim Parda Mansion in Madanpura, regarding the murder of her husband, Mohammad Iqbal Ibrahim Seliya.
The incident occurred on April 20, 2026, at around 6:30 pm at their residence located at Maulana Azad Road.
Police said that the accused, identified as Sadik Aakib Jawar (approx. 35), a resident of Mira Road, allegedly committed the crime over a financial dispute.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had invested around ₹65 lakh with the accused. A dispute arose between them over monthly returns linked to this investment. The argument escalated, following which the accused allegedly attacked the elderly man with a sharp weapon.
The victim sustained multiple grievous injuries on the neck, chest, abdomen, and hands, leading to his death on the spot.
Nagpada Police have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
