The Kurla Railway Police have taken a 35-year-old man into custody for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl aboard a Karjat-bound fast local train in Mumbai. Officials from the Mumbai Government Railway Police identified the accused as Mohammed Ayub Ansari. After the complaint was lodged, police promptly registered a case and began a detailed probe into the matter. Ansari was arrested and charged under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Authorities confirmed that he was produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody until February 22 as further investigations continue.

In a separate development, the Dindoshi Police arrested a 46-year-old man accused of molesting a 20-year-old woman on a public road. The incident reportedly occurred on January 31 evening while the woman was returning home to Santosh Nagar from work. Near the Hanuman Nagar bus stop, the accused allegedly approached her from behind, covered her eyes, and behaved inappropriately. The woman resisted by biting him and shouting for help, forcing him to escape into a narrow lane. Police later registered a case, scanned nearly 160 CCTV clips, and apprehended him within 48 hours while he was entering a salon.

In another case, the Malad Police detained a 47-year-old man for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl in the Library Garden locality of Malad West. The accused, identified as Sunil Pawar, reportedly followed the minor regularly as she passed the area for tuition classes. On one occasion, he allegedly showed her obscene content and expressed a desire to pursue a relationship. The girl informed her parents, after which her father filed a complaint. Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, reviewed around 50 CCTV clips across Malad and Goregaon, and subsequently arrested the accused.
