Mumbai: A father-son duo was injured while rescuing a woman from a leopard in Kurar village adjacent to Sanjay Gandhi National Park on Saturday morning, March 14, 2026. According to locals, the father and son had gone to fetch water from a well near their hamlet between 5:30 am and 6:00 am when the incident occurred.
According to a report by Midday, a woman from their house had gone ahead and spotted a leopard. Out of fear, she started shouting. After hearing her cries, both of them ran towards the leopard, which was hiding in the bushes. While attempting to drive the animal away, leopard suddenly attack and injured both them. Both the injured persons were taken to Kandivali's BMC run Shatabdi Hospital treatment.
Meanwhile, an eight-year-old boy lost his life after being attacked by a leopard near the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, officials said on Saturday. The incident triggered protests from villagers who demanded stronger measures to prevent wildlife attacks in the area.

According to officials, the incident occurred on Friday evening in Karikot village under the Nishangarha forest range. The child, identified as Raghuveer, was reportedly playing outside his house when a leopard suddenly emerged from a nearby wheat field and attacked him at around 7 pm.
