In a shocking incident on Tuesday, chaos broke out between Vitthalwadi and Kalyan after an intoxicated youth climbed onto the roof of an AC local train, causing panic among passengers and railway authorities.

 

According to reports, the incident occurred around 2:03 PM when the AC local was en route from Vitthalwadi to Kalyan. Eyewitnesses said the youth climbed onto the train’s roof at Vitthalwadi station. Police personnel present at the station attempted to bring him down, but he refused to comply.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The train was then taken to Kalyan station, where railway staff and police launched a joint operation to safely rescue him. Upon arrival, 2–3 stretcher porters climbed onto the roof and managed to bring the youth down safely at around 2:50 PM. He was subsequently handed over to the Railway Police for further action.

 

The entire episode disrupted train services for nearly 45 minutes, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. The affected AC local remained halted at the station for an extended period, also impacting the movement of other trains.

 

Railway Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
