Mumbai: Man Dies by Suicide After Jumping in Front of Train; Leaves Video Alleging Wife’s Affair, Probe On
In a deeply distressing incident from Mumbai, a 53-year-old man from Nalasopara allegedly died by suicide after being unable to cope with marital discord. The deceased, identified as Nitin, reportedly jumped in front of a moving train after recording a video in which he levelled serious allegations against his wife and three others. The Borivali Railway Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on April 2, 2026, at around 2:45 pm between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari railway stations. Nitin was found in a critically injured condition and was immediately rushed to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The case took a serious turn after it emerged that Nitin had recorded a video prior to taking the extreme step. In the video, he alleged that his wife, Madhura, had been living with another man for the past one-and-a-half to two months, which had caused him severe mental distress.
In the recording, Nitin held four individuals responsible for his death — his wife Madhura, her alleged partner Sanjay, her sister Sarita, and her brother Pradeep.
The deceased’s brother, Vinod, told police that he tried to contact Nitin after receiving the video, but Nitin was not in a condition to respond. Shortly thereafter, an unidentified person answered the phone and informed him about the railway accident. Family members rushed to the hospital, where Nitin was identified.
The Borivali Railway Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are examining all aspects of the case, including the video evidence. Officials stated that further details will emerge after a thorough investigation.
