The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has reserved 47 flats for sitting and former Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) out of 2,640 affordable flats, which are up for lottery this year.
These flats are falling under the mid-income group (MIG) category of MHADA and also the high-income group (HIG). Out of the 47 apartments, 25 are in the MIG and HIG categories. The south Mumbai Tardeo flat is the costliest apartment worth Rs 6.82 crore, which is reserved for sitting and former MLAs and MPs.

The flats are also reserved for scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), specially-abled, ex-servicemen, MHADA officials, state government officers, among several others. As per the MHADA Act, nearly 2% of the total homes sold in the MHADA lottery are reserved for MPs and MLAs.
Flats reserved for MPs and MLAs are located in areas like Tardeo in South Mumbai, Borivali, Gorai, Goregaon, Vikhroli, Kurla, and Chembur, among others.
Out of the total 2,640 affordable flats of MHADA, which are up for lottery this year, 1,762 apartments, or around 66% are under construction, according to the data on MHADA's official website. The under-construction MHADA apartments for sale are in areas such as Vikhroli, Goregaon, and Borivali.
