Tension spread across the Lokhandwala area in Kandivali East after a man allegedly created chaos near MHADA Road No. 3 by damaging a medical store and a mobile shop while reportedly carrying a knife. According to a report by 'NextMinute News', the accused allegedly threatened shopkeepers and terrified people in the locality by openly waving the weapon. He is also accused of throwing stones at two individuals, causing injuries to both. The sudden violence triggered fear among residents and traders in the busy neighbourhood. Several people gathered near the spot as panic gripped the area and shopkeepers rushed to shut their establishments for safety reasons.

A video of the incident, which has surfaced online, reportedly captures the accused threatening a person inside a mobile shop. In the footage, the man can first be seen arguing aggressively with the shopkeeper before allegedly throwing a brick-like object towards him. Shortly after, he hurls another object at the shop, leading to items inside collapsing onto the floor. The visuals also show the shopkeeper attempting to make a phone call, reportedly to inform the police about the situation. As the confrontation intensified, the accused allegedly pulled out a knife and continued threatening the shopkeeper, causing further panic among locals and nearby business owners.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of traders and small business owners in Mumbai suburbs. According to reports, local residents and shopkeepers were left frightened as the accused continued his aggressive behaviour in public. Authorities are yet to reveal the identity of the accused, and details regarding police action remain awaited. The incident comes nearly a month after another case from Trombay’s Maharashtra Nagar area, where two brothers were accused of extorting money from shopkeepers in the name of “hafta.” CCTV footage from March 26 reportedly showed one of the accused threatening a trader after he refused to pay money demanded by the duo.
