An Irish national living and working in Mumbai has reportedly become the victim of theft after his passport, visa papers, and other crucial documents went missing from the studio of an educational institute in Bandra West. Following the complaint, the Bandra Police registered a case against an unidentified accused on May 11 and launched an investigation into the matter. According to police records, the complainant has been identified as 38-year-old Stephen Fergus Healy, a citizen of Ireland who currently resides in Bandra West on a legally valid Indian work visa. He has been associated with FAD International on Pali Mala Road as a guest lecturer since November 2024.
As per the complaint filed with police officials, the incident is linked to a student assignment photoshoot that took place at the institute on March 7, 2026. Since the session continued till late in the evening, Healy reportedly left his large bag, suitcase, and several work-related materials in a corner of the second-floor studio before leaving the premises. Two days later, on March 9 at around 6 pm, he returned to collect his belongings. During the visit, he discovered that the bags were not where he had kept them earlier, raising immediate concern about their whereabouts and safety.
The complaint further mentions that an employee identified as Umesh later opened a locked cupboard inside the studio and handed over Healy’s belongings. However, after carefully checking the contents, Healy allegedly realised that several important items had gone missing from his bag and wallet. Among the stolen documents were his Irish passport, Indian work visa, and other essential papers. He subsequently shared all the relevant passport and visa details with the Bandra Police for official records and investigation purposes. Police officials have now registered a theft case against an unknown individual and stated that further inquiry into the incident is currently underway.
