Pune Tragedy: Worker Dies After Falling From Third Floor of Under-Construction Building; Case Filed Against Three

Pune: A tragedy occurred in Vadgaon Sheri area, where a construction worker dies after losing his balance and falling from the third floor of a planned residential project while unloading gravel. The Chandan Nagar police have registered a case against three individuals for failing to observe safety precautions and for being held responsible for the accident.

The deceased construction worker has been identified as Shankar Dubakwad. In connection with this case, a complaint has been filed against Ramesh Vanjari, Subhash Sakore, and Namdev Gangopalwa. Dubakwad's son, Shivanand, lodged the formal complaint regarding this matter at the Chandan Nagar Police Station. According to the police, construction work on a three-story building is currently underway in the Ganeshnagar locality of Vadgaon Sheri. Dubakwad was working on the third floor of the building on Sunday, May 10th at approximately 3:45 PM.

While he was in the process of unloading gravel on the third floor, Dubakwad lost his balance. He sustained severe injuries as a result of falling from the third floor. He was immediately rushed to a hospital; however, he passed away before receiving any medical treatment. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police visited the scene.  Neither the construction contractor nor the owners commissioning the building project had implemented necessary safety measures.

No safety nets had been installed around the premises of the under-construction building. In his complaint, Dubakwad's son, Shivanand, has stated that the accident occurred due to the complete lack of safety precautions. Assistant Police Inspector Babar is currently conducting the investigation into this case.
