The forecast for the upcoming days indicates light to moderate rainfall with cloudy skies. Similar weather is predicted for June 13 (Friday) and 14 (Saturday). However, rainfall activity is likely to increase from June 15 and 16. On June 17, lighter and patchy rains will bring relief to citizens.

IMD scientist Sushma Nair said, "Monsoon made its onset when conditions were favourable. At that time, the MJO (Madden-Julian Oscillation) was in a very favourable phase. Rossby waves and other factors that support convection and monsoon advancement were also present, which led to its onset over Mumbai. However, as you may know, the monsoon progresses in pulses. We are now expecting the next pulse and a revival of the monsoon between June 12 and June 16."
