Saif Ali Khan Attack Case: Accused Shariful Islam Shahzad Seeks Bail, Claims Case Against Him Is ‘Fabricated’
Shariful Islam Shahzad, accused of attacking actor Saif Ali Khan, has filed a bail plea in the Mumbai Sessions Court, claiming innocence and calling the case fabricated. He was arrested on January 19 in Thane. As per police reports, Shariful allegedly broke into Saif Ali Khan's 12th-floor apartment in the early hours of January 16 and stabbed him six times before fleeing the scene.
The case is currently in Bandra Magistrate Court but will be transferred to Sessions Court after the chargesheet is filed. Shahzad’s plea argues that the FIR was wrongly registered, he has cooperated with the investigation, and the police already have all the necessary evidence, ensuring no possibility of interference from him.
